This tool is designed to be similar to Google Maps (or other map tools), there is a search and a map. It is inspired by the well known "Timechart History of the World". The entire dataset, source code, and more are available for download on about data.
2. Timeline projection
A lengthy period of approximately 500 million years is compressed into around 1 year, this begins at the Cambrian period, this is shown in red . The ice-age is also compressed, this is shown in blue .
*bya: billion years ago, *mya: million years ago, *kya: thousand years ago
Reasons in favour of this projection (apologies not all have references at this time):
Soft-tissue in dinosaur fossils seems to have been confirmed even by secular scientists, see Prof. Matthew Collins of Cambridge, Mary Schweitzer
